Like so many other computer stores The Computer Store started out of my home.

In 1999 I started my network consulting business, Network Technologies of Kansas, Inc., and by 2003 my wife was commenting on the fact that the technicians working on our client's computers were more at our house than I was.

This was when I decided to open a retail store offering our professional services to anyone. We didn't open overnight though! As I had seen computer stores come and go and some not ran very professionally, I wanted to make sure to build on the best practices learned from my consulting business to offer better and faster service while remaining local.

With this business model in place The Computer Store opened the doors to customers later in 2003 at 37th and Topeka and we are by now the oldest locally owned professional computer retail store in Topeka.
